Multiple Epithelioid Hemangiomas with Orbital Involvement
نویسندگان
چکیده
Epithelioid hemangioma, also known as angiolymphoid hyperplasia with eosinophilia, is a cutaneous angioproliferative lesion that follows a benign clinical course. It is most frequently localized in the skin of the head and neck region; although it may sometimes arise deeper in soft tissues, orbital involvement is rare. Here we describe a patient who developed multiple epithelioid hemangiomas, including an intraorbital lesion. The histopathological parallels with other reactive and neoplastic lesions as well as therapeutic options are discussed.

Uveal melanoma: case report of extension through the optic nerve to the surgical margin in the orbital apex.
An unsuspected uveal melanoma arising in a phthisical eye extended through the optic nerve to the surgical margin in the orbital apex without involvement of other orbital structures. Step sections showed the continuous extension through the nerve. Factors likely to predispose to optic nerve extension include epithelioid cell type, large tumour size, peripapillary involvement, and glaucoma. Opti...

متن کاملMultiple cavernous hemangiomas of the orbit: separate occurrence within a 24-year period.
BACKGROUND Cavernous hemangioma is a frequent and the most common, primary, benign tumor of the orbit in adults. Multiple cavernous hemangiomas may recur after a complete excision and may exist with concurrent syst...
